The maintenance-free compact cross seal with a double-lip profile ensures a tight shutoff and can be adjusted without interrupting operation. A self-cleaning effect is provided by flush-out corners in the body and a cutting edge beneath the gate. Solids and fibers are cut by this edge before the gate seals against the elastic seat. The gate guidance is intentionally interrupted along the stroke length, allowing dirt to be expelled. Bidirectional shutoff is achieved through the combination of lateral gate surfaces and the elastic seat integrated into the body. The chambered, pre-stressed seat enhances sealing performance, while the high-quality finish of the guide and sealing surfaces on both sides ensures long service life and consistent tight shutoff. Lateral gate guidance prevents flutter in either flow direction or during throttling.
